Categories of bathtub faucets

Pressure and washerless faucets are two general groups of bathtub faucets and consist of nearly all of the bathtub faucets currently available. They are recognized by how the inner parts are constructed. Pressure faucets are constructed with a cap, device and washer. When you turn the handle one way, the device begins to open and water starts to circulation through.
This is the most basic group of bathtub faucets currently available and includes several wall-mount and Roman style faucets. Washerless faucets work in a similar way but they are a little more modern. These bathtub faucets use a redirecting device and container to control the circulation. They do not use any units in their design.
The free standing faucets is the opposite of the wall-mount faucets. It joins directly to a tube extension that increases out of the ground. These faucets are used in homes that do not already have traditional shower pipe joints installation inside the walls surrounding a tub. These bathtub faucets are often used on vintage bathtubs and free standing wash faucets. The faucets can be installed almost anywhere in a room, as long as water pipe joints are directed along the ground nearby.
