Vinegar Unclogs Shower Head

Do you have wimpy mineral water pressure in your shower? Before you call a plumber, check the shower heads to mineral buildup. This could be the cause, and you can fix it with a favorite of mine -- good ol' household therapy.

Fill a small bucket or bowl with warm to hot therapy, eliminate the shower heads and let it dip in the therapy for several hours -- over night for best results! To help clean consider any softened "deposits," use an old tooth brush. Also, unclog gaps with a toothpick, sewing needle or piece of wire.

If you can't eliminate the shower heads, pour 2 to 3 inches of therapy into a sturdy plastic sandwich bag, then tape, twist-tie or rubber-band the bag so that the shower heads is submerged in the therapy. Again, let this dip over night, then eliminate the bag and clean the gaps with an old tooth brush.

After cleaning, turn on the mineral water to the shower heads full power to help power out any loosened remains left inside. If all has gone well, the bath power should be up to par again
